En el mucho o poco tiempo que llevo en el mundo del pancracio nacional he visto ir y venir una gran cantidad de jóvenes que tienen un común denominador, el sueño de convertirse en estrellas de los encordados y hacer de la lucha libre un modo de vida que les dé estabilidad económica y, por qué no, fama internacional. Muchos de ellos van quedando en el camino, siendo un grupo muy reducido el que logra trascender; entre ellos está Rush, cuya carrera ha ido forjando de manera inteligente llegando a estar en estos momentos en el ojo del huracán.
¿Qué cosa hizo Rush para que en un lapso aproximado de una década haya pasado de ser un luchador “del montón” a ser considerado el rival a vencer de cualquier gladiador que se precie de ser “cabrón”?, han sido muchas cosas, pero una es la fundamental: no traicionarse a sí mismo.
Lejano queda en el recuerdo la imagen de William Muñoz presentándose en la Arena Naucalpan bajo el personaje de Latino, un joven de buen físico que buscaba caer en el gusto de las jovencitas. De manera increíble, con esa misma fórmula llegó al Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, pero con el nombre de Rouge, pero nunca se sintió a gusto. Él no estaba para bailar (aunque en su momento lo hizo), ni para mostrarse como el niño bonito de Tala, Jalisco, su naturaleza es explosiva y no podía ocultarla.
Por ese estilo mucha gente lo menospreció, decían que solo era imagen y nada de luchador pese a darse unos buenos tiros en las arenas del Consejo y, algunas veces, con independientes. En un corto periodo las victorias llegaron, la cabellera de Loco Max, la de Yoshihashi, y poco a poco esos triunfos se fueron dando sobre luchadores de mayor categoría; se convirtió en Campeón Mundial, etc.; pero fue cuando se topó con La Sombra y La Máscara en que su maquiavélica mente comenzó a elucubrar lo que poco tiempo después conoceríamos como Los Ingobernables.
Ahí fue cuando el ya Rush explotó como un luchador agresivo, recio, despiadado, arrogante, engreído y, por consecuencia, odiado por la gente. Nadie les dijo hagan esto o lo otro, La Máscara, La Sombra y Rush fueron quienes le dieron forma a lo que querían reflejar en el ring lográndolo con creces. Nadie puede negar que esta facción, hoy por hoy, es la que domina la escena luchística internacional y parece no se cansan de hacer ruido.
A Rush no le importa el qué dirán, sus acciones hablan por sí solas, un punto clave en su carrera fue quitarle la cabellera al invicto Shocker, el 1000% Guapo que cuenta en su vitrina con cabelleras tan valiosas como la del bien recordado Emilio Charles Jr; Máscara Año 2000 o Rambo; el “Toro Blanco” también despojó de la melena a Terrible y sus triunfos continuaban.
Pese a todo, había gente que seguía diciendo que todo era gracias a ser un consentido del CMLL, que los triunfos se le daban porque era sobrino de uno de los integrantes del Departamento de Programación, Franco Colombo (total mentira), llegando al ridículo de asegurar que su posición privilegiada en el Consejo era por mantener una relación sentimental con la hija de la entonces Jefa de Prensa de dicha empresa.
Después del trabajo demostrado no solo en México, sino a nivel internacional, aunado al recibimiento que le ha dado la afición de otras partes del mundo ¿alguien seguirá dudando de la capacidad de Rush?, instalado ya en el terreno independiente ¿habrá quien asegure que sus triunfos son por relaciones personales con ciertos directivos?, podrán odiarlo, reprocharle su soberbia sobre el ring, pero decir que no es un luchador entregado y de pantalones sería mentirse a sí mismo.
La lucha libre da sorpresas y lo que era impensable hace unos meses hoy es una realidad, Rush es ya elemento indispensable en la temporada 2020 de Triple A y en su primera función del año el “Ingobernable Mayor” llegó provocando una verdadera tormenta, primero ensañándose con el buen Mascarita Dorada-Sagrada y después tosiéndole de frente a la imagen de la Caravana Estelar, Psycho Clown. Por si fuera poco, reafirmó la alianza que tiene con L.A. Park.
Lo que me causa sobresalto es no ver los gritos de aficionados exigiendo el duelo de máscara contra cabellera entre Rush y la huesuda, los mismos aficionados que criticaron a más no poder al CMLL por no realizar esta lucha y hoy parecen haberse quedado sin wifi, pero ese es tema para otra columna.
Rush es un ejemplo claro de que cada luchador tiene ideas fantásticas para hacer crecer su personaje, por eso las empresas deben escuchar a sus elementos, apoyarlos en las cosas que pueden funcionar y orientarlos en las que son verdaderos disparates. No fue fácil que Los Ingobernables salieran a la luz, las trabas existieron, pero Rush, La Máscara y La Sombra fueron coherentes consigo mismos y se apoyaron hasta lograr lo que tienen hoy en día. Así, Rush es el toro que embiste a sus detractores con hechos, y con una verborrea fenomenal, aunque a la afición le debe la lucha de apuesta contra L.A. Park, pero como dije, esa es otra historia.
