Difícil es expresar un punto de vista sobre eventos a puerta cerrada que se están realizando en varios puntos de la república mexicana en medio de una crisis sanitaria severa como la que representa el Covid-19. Aquí no es que se haya hecho bien o mal por las distintas situaciones en que los luchadores viven y enfrentan esta emergencia, pero algo es cierto, las cosas se pueden salir de control si no se acatan las recomendaciones de las autoridades.
En el momento en que escribo ésta columna conozco el fallecimiento de una persona cercana a mi familia a causa del virus y dos vecinos están internados con pronóstico reservado en espera del resultado que confirme o descarte la presencia del Covid-19. Será por esto que mi perspectiva hacia los eventos de lucha libre, aun a puerta cerrada, es más severa.
Contra lo que han determinado las autoridades, Triple A realizó un evento a puerta cerrada el sábado pasado y confirmó que continuará con esto durante cuatro fines de semana. Aseguran haber tomado las precauciones necesarias para salvaguardar la salud de todos los participantes pero, ¿esto es posible? Que limpien el cuadrilátero entre lucha y lucha, que los réferis usen guantes y cubrebocas, o que un equipo especializado sanitice las instalaciones ¿es suficiente para evitar que un paciente asintomático ingrese y propague la enfermedad? Claro que no. Nadie sabe el cuidado o descuido que han tenido luchadores, gente de producción, staff y personal de planta de las instalaciones o Triple A. Eso es lo peligroso del caso y por lo que se han suspendido los eventos y labores no esenciales.
Los luchadores que participaron se cansaron de pedirle a la gente se queden en casa “nosotros nos encargamos del entretenimiento”, y se les agradece el buen gesto, pero no por ser héroes de carne y hueso dejan de ser eso, personas de carne y hueso que están ante el mismo riesgo que cualquier otra persona. Usar una máscara o representar un personaje no les da inmunidad ante ninguna enfermedad.
Hay que puntualizar que, efectivamente, los luchadores son ejemplo para mucha gente, niños en su mayoría, y consciente o inconscientemente están incitando a la desobediencia, “si ellos lo hacen, por qué yo no”, “qué puede pasar”, “qué tanto es tantito”.
Al menos en la Ciudad de México y Estado de México, las funciones con público o a puerta cerrada están expresamente prohibidas por las Comisiones de Lucha Libre, cosa que no se ha respetado. A las Comisiones de todo el país siempre se les ha criticado y exigido el cumplimiento de las reglas, de lineamientos que respalden a los luchadores para ejercer su labor pero, ahora, nadie les hace caso. ¿Con qué cara se le puede exigir algo a las Comisiones después de ignorar una medida basada en lo que establecen las autoridades sanitarias del gobierno federal?
Por su parte el Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre se ha mantenido firme en la postura de no realizar funciones a puerta cerrada aún con la iniciativa de luchadores estrellas que, aseguran, están dispuestos a trabajar sin percibir un sueldo como forma de apoyo y, de paso, se vean beneficiados luchadores de media tabla hacia abajo que sí necesitan recibir un sueldo. Esto se discutió y, por precaución y en acato a las recomendaciones gubernamentales, no se aprobó.
Pero hay que ser coherentes en todo momento, cómo es posible que la voz que más influyó en impedir las funciones a puerta cerrada sea quien ha hecho a un lado la magia que brinda la tecnología para realizar programas de televisión a larga distancia, cada quien desde su casa, y realice entrevistas presenciales con luchadores en la Arena México.
Los gladiadores pueden llegar en auto particular con mayores medidas de higiene, pero hay que ser realistas, no todos los integrantes de la producción llegan en auto. Elos usan transporte público donde corren un riesgo mucho mayor al ser éste un lugar de fuerte contagio.
Todo el mundo de la lucha libre está en crisis. Los gladiadores que viven completamente de este deporte y los que no están en la misma situación que cualquier trabajador informal de México, sin nadie que los respalde. El sector independiente está mucho más desprotegido, por eso han ideado formas de allegarse recursos, incluso ignorando las recomendaciones con funciones a puerta cerrada, y hasta cierto punto es comprensible porque saben que no hay quien los apoye económicamente y deben buscar alternativas, cosa que, se esperaría, al menos fuera diferente en las dos empresas más poderosas del país, pues hay desilusión en el roster de ambos organismos al no recibir apoyo monetario alguno.
Son diferentes perspectivas que todos pueden tener, los que apelen a la necesidad que el luchador tienen de trabajar y los que no comulgamos con la idea de arriesgar la salud de nadie con tal de obtener un recurso económico; lo cierto es que hago votos para que nadie salga afectado y esperando que se asuma la responsabilidad que a cada quien le corresponda si alguien, ruego por que no sea así, tuviera un problema de salud relacionado directamente con el Covid-19.
