Sansón, Cuatrero, Forastero, Universo 2000 Jr, Máscara Año 2000 Jr, Cien Caras Jr, Hijo de Cien Caras, Canek Jr, Hijo del Santo, Hijo del Solitario, Blue Demon Jr, Villano III Jr, Hijo de Villano III, las tres versiones de Octagón Jr, Hijo de Octagón, Abismo Negro Jr, Pentagón Jr, Garza Jr, Hijo del Perro Aguayo, y un largo etcétera… todos han sido blanco de las comparaciones con sus respectivos padres, tíos o primeras versiones.
Nada que ver con el original. Le queda grande el nombre. Debería buscar su propio camino. Es como si los aficionados quisieran apartarse de la nostalgia que sufren a través de esos comentarios. Pero ese mismo aficionado hace vibrar la Arena México cada que Atlantis Jr le aplica la Atlántida a Hijo de Villano III. Cada que Cuatrero aplica el abrazo de oso invertido. Los aficionados de AAA estallan cuando Abismo Negro Jr finta con aplicar un martinete. Los grandes triunfos de El Hijo del Santo han llegado con la de a caballo. Nostalgia pura.
En medio de una pandemia que ha acabado con la vida como la conocíamos, es difícil encontrar optimismo por el futuro. Es más bien el anhelo por lo que teníamos lo que está de moda. Las reuniones con los amigos, caminar por el centro de la ciudad, la posibilidad de perrear.
Se pone aún peor. Nuestra infancia. Cuando papá los llevó a la Arena Naucalpan a ti y a tu hermano. El Satánico y Los Infernales. Los pretextos que pusiste cada sábado para dejar de hacer lo que tenías que hacer y llegar puntual a tu cita por televisión con Los Perros del Mal. Tu hermana y tú jugando a que son Atlantis y su edecán. La colección de luchadores de plástico que te regaló tu papá. La irreversibilidad del tiempo y ver en lo que nos hemos convertido. No es lo que era.
Por eso no hace sentido ver a Octagón Jr, porque quizá ya no te reconoces aquí. En este espacio y tiempo. ¿Sirve? No sé. Supongo que sí, pero también supongo que la Lucha Libre es ahora y hoy.
